Andres LoveraBiographyAndres Lovera is an associate in Wicker Smith’s Fort Lauderdale office where he works in a variety of practice areas, but primarily Transportation and Construction. Andres attended Florida State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. He graduated in 2018, and continued on to St. Thomas University College of Law. At St. Thomas, he received a CALI Book Award in Sports Law and Criminal Procedure I. Andres was also a competing member of the St. Thomas University College of Law Trial Team where he won Best Oralist for the St. Thomas University College of Law Trial Team Intramural Competition, and Best Advocate Award for the Florida Justice Association Mock Trial Competition. He was also an active member of The Entertainment and Sports Law Society and Vice President of Finance for the St. Thomas University Trial Team. Prior to joining Wicker Smith as an associate in 2024, Andres served as the Assistant Public Defender for the Broward Public Defender’s Office, Misdemeanor and Felony Division. During his time at the Broward Public Defender’s Office, Andres litigated eight (8) jury trials to verdict, and litigated numerous evidentiary motions, and bench trials. Andres was also awarded “The Law Office of the Public Defender’s Triple Crown Award” for successfully attaining three (3) not guilty verdicts within a calendar year, 2023. Outside of practicing law, Andres enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, outdoor activities and golfing. He is admitted to practice in the state of Florida and is fluent in Spanish.
