Lynn AudieBiographyLynn L. Audie is a Shareholder in Wicker Smith’s Miami office. She handles complex litigation in both state and federal court, covering a broad spectrum of matters including medical malpractice, personal injury, negligent security, and professional liability. She has tried dozens of medical malpractice and general liability cases in Miami-Dade County throughout her career. Prior to enrolling in law school, Lynn worked as a physical therapist in spinal cord and head trauma rehabilitation. This medical background gives her a unique perspective from which to evaluate medical malpractice claims. Whether she is defending a hospital or an individual doctor, Lynn has an understanding of the medicine that facilitates her ability to develop the defenses of the medical care in her cases. This also allows her to accurately assess the economic damages of a catastrophic injury case such as ones that involve a brain or spinal injury and also to accurately assess the potential value and exposure of a case at the outset and ensure the most efficient resolution. In addition to her medical malpractice work, Lynn also handles the defense of negligent security, sexual assault and sexual impropriety claims. She has defended behavioral health facilities in claims that involve allegations of improper sexual contact against patients by other patients, facility staff, and other third parties. She has defended premises owners and management companies in the defense of alleged sexual assaults or sexual batteries that allegedly occurred on their properties. Lynn is well-respected by her peers and colleagues, and her reputation for professionalism and preparedness makes her very effective during high-stakes negotiations and in trial. She is adept at resolving difficult cases efficiently, and her clients appreciate her direct and pragmatic approach. Lynn holds an AV® Preeminent™ rating from Martindale-Hubbell, reflecting the highest rating for skill, professionalism and ethics as selected by her fellow lawyers. She is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, an organization whose purpose is to promote high ethical and technical standards in the legal field. Membership in this organization is through invitation only and requires certification of exceptional qualifications by the local bench and bar to the national offices of ABOTA. Admitted to practice in the state of Florida, Lynn is a member of the Florida Bar and the Miami-Dade County Bar Association, and Florida Association of Women Lawyers.
