WICKER SMITH O’HARA MCCOY & FORD P.A. CELEBRATES MILESTONE 70TH ANNIVERSARY

CORAL GABLES, FLORIDA – July 11, 2022 – Civil litigation firm, Wicker Smith O’Hara McCoy & Ford P.A., is proud to celebrate a major milestone as this year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the firm! On May 1, 1952, Idus Q. Wicker and James A. Smith announced the formation of a partnership for the general practice of law under the firm name of Wicker & Smith with offices in the Congress Building in Miami, Florida.

It was not until twenty–one years later that the firm began expansion with the addition of three new named partners, changing the official name of the firm to Wicker, Smith, Pyszka, Blomqvist and Davant. In 1975, the firm opened its second location in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and officially changed the firm name to Wicker, Smith, O’Hara, McCoy & Ford, P.A. on May 3, 2007. Today, the firm has grown to more than 250 attorneys and expanded to sixteen locations with 12 Florida locations in Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Melbourne, Miami, Naples, Orlando, Palmetto Bay, Pensacola, Sarasota, Tampa, West Palm Beach, and Key Largo, as well as Phoenix, Arizona; Atlanta, Georgia; Brunswick, Georgia; and Nashville, Tennessee.

Idus Q. Wicker and James A. Smith formed a partnership with the goal of providing legal services of exceptional quality to their clients. They remained partners until their retirement and were life–long friends.

Over its 70 years of existence, Wicker Smith has developed a particularly strong reputation for handling complex litigation in both state and federal courts. As a result, various corporations have selected Wicker Smith to serve as national counsel.
